Dr. Rao Mulpuri
Chief Executive Officer, View, Inc.
Dr. Rao Mulpuri is the CEO of View, a technology company that is creating smart and connected buildings to improve people’s health and wellness, while simultaneously reducing energy consumption. Under his leadership, view has developed groundbreaking technology and products, and has achieved several milestones including the first large scale commercialization of dynamic smart glass, building state of the art manufacturing, and achieving rapid commercial growth.
Prior to View Inc., Dr. Mulpuri held several executive positions at Novellus Systems, most recently as President of Novellus Systems Japan, and Vice President/ General Manager of the Integrated Metals Business. He holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India, MS in Manufacturing Engineering, and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Boston University, and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School. Dr. Mulpuri is a member of the Young Presidents Organization and the Urban Land Institute, and serves on the Board of Directors of Kateeva, Inc, the Advisory Board of the College of Engineering at Boston University and the Executive Board of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
Partner of SB Investment Advisors, Manager of the SoftBank Vision Fund
Tom Cheung is a Partner of SB Investment Advisors, manager of the SoftBank Vision Fund. Tom has a long track record of investing and growing businesses in the technology and financial services industries. Prior to joining SBIA, Tom was a board member of Kaseya, the enterprise SaaS company, a portfolio company of Insight Partners. Tom was a senior executive at Deutsche Bank AG, where he ran the Structured Finance business globally, after creating the Asian private equity business and managing the distressed trading business in Asia. Tom was a Principal investor at Insight Partners, one of the leading software growth equity firms in the world. He was also a Co-founder of Oakdale Capital, an equity long-short hedge fund. He began his career at the First Boston Corporation (a predecessor to Credit Suisse), after graduating from Harvard University. Tom is based in California.
Head of International Direct Investment, NZ Super Fund
Nigel Gormly is Head of International Direct Investment for the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, New Zealand’s sovereign wealth fund, based in Auckland. Nigel is primarily responsible for the Fund’s direct investments in energy, infrastructure and expansion capital as well as leading the Fund’s collaboration efforts with global investment partners. This includes holdings in many of the Fund’s largest investments including Z Energy, RetireAustralia and Horizon Roads as well as high growth companies including Bloom Energy, LanzaTech and Ogin Energy.
Prior to joining the Super Fund Nigel spent 10 years with Fonterra, where he held a number of strategic development and commercial leadership roles, most recently as General Manager Commercial Ventures. Nigel’s early career was focussed on M&A and corporate finance advisory based in London, with assignments throughout Asia, Latin America and Europe. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Nigel has a BSc/BCom and a Graduate Diploma in Finance from the University of Auckland. He currently serves on the Board of LanzaTech and RetireAustralia.

Mr. Hughes brings more than 30 years of experience in the high technology industry, including service as a corporate officer in major multi-national companies. He has extensive experience in driving global commercialization of innovative technology-oriented products and has held key leadership positions in pioneering technology companies and brings broad financial, operating and business strategy credentials to View’s board. Mr. Hughes served as a director of Rambus Inc., a chip interface company from 2003 to 2012 and as its chief executive officer and president from 2005 to 2012, providing the overall vision and operational leadership necessary to drive growth.
He started his career as a United States Army Officer before starting his private sector career at Intel. He held a variety of positions within Intel including treasurer, vice president of Intel Capital, chief financial officer and vice president of planning and logistics. Following his tenure at Intel, Hughes was the chairman and chief executive officer of Pandesic, LLC. He holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from the University of Wisconsin and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Tom Leppert has a distinguished record of accomplishment that has spanned managing companies in the role of CEO in a wide range of industries to leading a major US city as the elected Mayor. He has served as the Chief Executive Officer of Kaplan, Inc., a global multi-billion dollar educational services company; Chairman/CEO of The Turner Corporation, the nation’s largest general building company; Vice Chairman of Pacific Century Financial Corporation and its subsidiary, the Bank of Hawaii; CEO of Castle & Cooke Properties, Inc.; and National Partner at Trammell Crow Company. He began his career at McKinsey & Co. where he was elected a Principal of the firm.
From 2007-2011, he was the elected Mayor of Dallas. He made the city a national focal point in the areas of public safety, economic development, education and the environment.
He holds an MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School and graduated cum laude from Claremont McKenna College. He is a noted speaker and has appeared regularly in the media. He has been recognized as “CEO of the Year” by D Magazine, the “Texas Businessman of the Year” by the Texas Association of Business, and “The Global Cross Millennium Award for Corporate Environmental Leadership” from Global Green. He has also been inducted into the “Energy Efficiency Hall of Fame” and the “Dallas Business Hall of Fame”.
Managing Partner, Madrone Capital Partners
Tom Patterson is a Managing Partner at Madrone Capital Partners, a private investment firm located in Menlo Park, California. Mr. Patterson co-founded Madrone in 2005 and presently serves on the Boards of Barry-Wehmiller, Progress Financial, DMB Pacific, and Trumpet Behavioral Health.
Prior to Madrone, Tom was a growth equity investor at Weston Presidio for eight years and a consultant at McKinsey & Company for four years. Tom holds an BA in History from Harvard College and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

His leadership roles include serving as SVP of Microsoft Windows, COO of Hewlett-Packard, and CEO of Survey Monkey.
The products and businesses Bill helped build are used by billions of people, empowering them & enabling them. Bill loves transformation and finding ways to enable people and companies to know more, do more, be more. Bill holds a Bachelor of Arts in East Asian studies from Harvard University.
